Job Description

Opportunity Passport Intern

Intern will assist the coordinator of a match savings program to increase the ability of foster care youth to save money; promote participation in financial institutions; and increase asset acquisition through the establishment of savings that can be matched with grant funding. The intern to the IDA Foster Care Program Coordinator will also be responsible for file creation and management, facilitating trainings, and meeting with clients and partners.

  • In tandem with IDA Foster Youth Program Coordinator, target partners for participant recruitment and community outreach through community presentations, outreach materials, and social media efforts directed toward approved agencies.
  • Provide connection with partner organizations to support clients in successfully completing their asset acquisition in a timely manner.
  • Assist in coordinating application, intake, eligibility of participants, and create client files.
  • Maintain client files and the Opportunity Passport™ Data System for client tracking purposes.
  • Assist with asset-purchase process and manage the match withdrawal disbursements at
  • Manage the completion by each participant of the Opportunity Passport™ Participant Survey at the time of initial entry into the program and twice a year thereafter.
  • When possible participate in program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engages as a member of the team
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Moderate related professional experience ideal
  • Experience should include a minimum of 1 year of youth development experience;
  • Excellent cross cultural understanding and communication skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English;
  • Ability to work independently and high attention to detail;
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, data tracking, and file management
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance, access to a reliable personal vehicle (Flexible)

Time Commitment:

·3 month minimum

·10-15 hours a week

·Available between Monday- Friday between 9-5 pm
