Job Description
The IRC’s International Development Unit, a part of the Global Partnerships and Philanthropy (GPP) Department, leads on the Organization’s engagement with high-value private-sector stakeholders (corporations, foundations and individual philanthropists) globally. The Senior Officer will report to the Associate Director and support their and other Corporate Partnerships colleagues in their efforts to identify, solicit, maintain and expand corporate partnerships with public-facing fundraising and brand awareness activities and initiatives. The Senior Officer will support the team’s efforts to manage and grow a portfolio of multi-faceted corporate partnerships and prospects including cause-related marketing, customer fundraising, and other initiatives to help elevate the IRC’s brand and reach financial and non-financial targets. They will also lead on select partnerships. Work locations considered: CA, WA, GA, CO, NY, DC This highly collaborative position will require knowledge of programs and organizational initiatives as well as extensive coordination within International Development and other departments to support corporate partner stewardship. This will include but is not limited to maintaining and creating new resources, supporting the development and execution of partnership profiles and strategies, producing written content, pitches, proposals, and donor reports, preparing for and following up on meetings, brainstorming ideas to generate new revenue, and other administrative duties. The Senior Officer will also monitor donation payments, agreement deadlines, interim and end-of-grant reports, on-going communication, and maintain systems and databases. The Senior Officer is a proactive, self-motivated, results-oriented, and creative professional with excellent prospecting and client relationship building, opportunity identification and development, project management, with strong attention to detail. Major Responsibilities: Design and implement creative and comprehensive outreach, solicitation and management strategies for partners and prospects within the portfolio, leading on partnership negotiations, proposal submissions, pitches, and partnership management and stewardship; Support the Director, Senior Director, and Vice President of International Development, and other IRC staff (including the President), in high-level private sector partnership solicitations and relationship management with briefing materials, agendas, background research and appropriate follow-up; Manage and track the internal drafting and approval processes necessary for proposals, reports, external-facing copy, and contract agreements; Should a position become available, supervise and manage the workflow for a co-assigned junior staff member who supports portfolio management and development; Liaise and form strong relationships with internal colleagues across departments to ensure information flows between prospects/donors are clear and aligned, while developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with GPP colleagues and IRC program and support staff globally;
