Description

Mission Integration and Flight Operations Support System Engineer in Systems Engineering Division, Systems Department, Directorate of Tech, Eng. & Quality, assigned as Integrated Support to the MPCV-ESM Engineering Team, MPCV-ESM Team, Development Projects Group, Directorate of Human & Robotic Exploration.

If successfully recruited to this post, you will report to the MPCV-ESM Engineering Team Leader, under whose delegated authority you will be technically responsible for the following duties.

Duties

Supporting the Engineering Team Leader and the Principal System Engineers in the field of Mission Integration and performance system Engineering;
Supporting the assessment of deviations, waivers and non-conformances;
Supporting the ESM (European Service Module) verification process;
Interfacing with NASA in the domain of ESM Mission Integration (development of ESM operational functions, functional mission analysis, sequencing and utilisation,) and Performance (stressing performance identification, nominal and contingencies design case development assumptions and analyses);
Providing technical expertise in the areas of ESM / MPCV integrated Operations and Performance;
Interfacing with NASA to prepare ESM Engineering support during the flight operations;
Maintaining the ESA Flight operation Support plan;
Coordinating the preparation of the MPCV-ESM flight operations engineering support, including training and post-flight activities;
Monitoring the industrial consortium in the detailed implementation of the technical activities related to Mission Integration and Performance and Flight Operation Engineering Support;
Supporting the Engineering Team Leader and Principal System Engineers in the development and maintenance of the MPCV-ESM bilateral technical baseline;
Supporting the establishment of the industrial technical baseline;
Liaising with the Principal System Engineers of the ESM units to ensure a coherent and smooth transition of the ESM design from ESM1 to future models;
Supporting the ESM Engineering Team Leader and Project Manager by contributing to MPCV ESM Contract Change Boards and Engineering Change Boards;
Other duties in your area of competence as may be required by the hierarchical superior in support of the project activities;
Participating in periodic meetings with the parent division, contributing to the transfer of technical knowledge and lessons learned across the Agency.

A Master's degree or equivalent qualification in engineering is required.

Additional requirements

A previous experience in the field of GNC of complex space systems is an asset as well as participation in engineering support teams for previous space missions.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
