Technical Education Coordinator

The role of the Technical Education Coordinator is to coordinate with the MoE and partners on policy and institutionalization of practices, through technical working groups and in direct NRC negotiations with the MoE and partners. This position will be the focal point within the Education Programme for evidence generation to feed into sector advocacy, in line with the programme advocacy strategy. This position will be active and a leader in coordination platforms. This will position will support actively with donor relations and other representational duties when needed.
Duties and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
- Promote the rights of internally displaced/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
- Contribute to the development of Core Competency strategy, Micro Log Frame, and Plan of Action.
- Contribute to the specific Core Competency programme development, adjustment or review.
- Conduct Core Competency technical assessment and present recommendations.
- Conduct specific Core Competency technical research and document findings and recommendations.
- Provide specific Core Competency technical input to coordination mechanism (e.g. cluster coordination) and working groups.
- Develop specific Core Competency technical indicators and mechanism for monitoring and evaluation.
- Develop specific Core Competency technical guidance, tools and mechanism.

Contribute to organisational learning through the provision specific technical analysis, lessons learned and reports.
- Develop training modules and provide specific technical learning or/and training for project staff.
- Provide training to relevant stakeholders.
- Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.

Specific responsibilities
- Responsible for implementation of the national-level pillar of the Education Programme, including advocacy and evidence generation
- Responsible for mapping and monitoring sector and national policies impacting on the programme
- Coordination with MoE and sector partners for technical activities
- Participation/leadership in sector/ministry working groups
- Internal focal point for planning for and coordinating programmatic research and producing evidence-based products for dissemination across the sector
- Internal focal point for coordinating with the ICLA and other departments to monitor refugee enrolment

Qualifications

Professional Competencies
Generic professional competencies for this position:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertise.
- Technical specific knowledge from the humanitarian sector.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented technical competencies related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
-Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Qualification requirement:

- Bachelor degree or higher
- Years of Experience: 3
- Existing know0ge of the sector, policies and platforms
- Experience in advocacy, including with evidence generation
- Excellent writing skills for various audiences==-
- Experience in technical working groups
- Diplomacy and representational skills
- Existing networks within the sector desireable
