The Position

The Programme Analyst will provide substantive support to the global programme quality assurance portfolio, identifying trends and implementation bottlenecks, S/he will support strengthening field support systems and in the provision of support to the field as well as analytical inputs in programme policy development and update.  

The Programme Analyst, in the Operations Support and Quality Assurance Branch and reports to Global Programme Coordinator. The Programme Analyst supports the programme quality assurance and field support efforts in the unit.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced university degree, preferably in international relations, international development, public administration, business, data management, statistics or other related fields;

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 2 years professional experience in program data management and data quality assurance experience;
  • Demonstrated expertise in data management software and basic analytic skills;
  • Excellent analytical and communications skills required;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Knowledge of the UN system, dedication to the principles of the United Nations and strong interest in development work, especially the mission of the United Nations Population Fund are highly desirable.
  • Initiative, strong conceptual abilities, sound judgment, liaison skills and management skills are also highly desirable;
  • Excellent command of English and a good working knowledge of at least one of the United Nations language would be an asset.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required and a working knowledge any other UN language
