Job Title: Workforce Development Data & Reporting Intern

Job Description

With support from the Workforce Development Team, the intern will take the lead on a project related to workforce data quality and integrity across the USP network of economic empowerment programs. The work will include performing quality assurance on the existing workforce programs database and supporting with the creation of a process to maintain data integrity. The position reports to the Economic Empowerment Technical Advisor.

COMMITMENT: 3-4 months starting in early March 2020, 10-20 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform an in depth quality assurance review of the workforce development program database

  • In coordination with the workforce development team, communicate with IRC’s field sites to validate existing database information and update and complete missing information.

  • Develop learning and training materials for field offices to support accurate and uniform program data entry.

  • Support with other duties as assigned

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. The intern will gain professional experience using ETO, IRC’s data management system.

  2. The intern will deepen their understanding of database management best practices and the quality assurance process with a large and diverse data set.

  3. The intern will gain experience communicating and working with a large and dispersed network across multiple programs and locations.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field. Some graduate coursework preferred. 

  • Strong understanding of the logic of data collection and management systems.

  • Experience with data entry and performing quality assurance preferred with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong computer skills: proficiency with MS Office – especially MS Excel required

  • Experienceusing a CRM system. Experience using ETO a plus.

    This is an unpaid internship position. No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation, is available.
