The Farmworker Outreach Specialist is responsible for conducting direct outreach to survivors of human trafficking with the purpose of increasing identification and referral across Northern California within agriculture. The Farmworker Outreach Specialist will work collaboratively with partner agencies to coordinate outreach events to migrant farmworker communities vulnerable to human trafficking and will conduct screenings of potential survivors. This position will also providing training to other community based agencies on how to screen for and identify human trafficking among the communities they serve, with a focus on migrant farmworker, Spanish speaking communities. This position reports to the Anti-Trafficking Program Manager.
•Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of human trafficking laws, regulations, and local issues relating to human trafficking and agriculture, such as workers’ rights, the H-A Guest Worker visa, and farmworker collective bargaining;
•Assist in the development of a comprehensive outreach plan to reach potential survivors of human trafficking throughout Northern California, with a focus on the Spanish-speaking and migrant farmworker communities;
•Facilitate direct outreach events throughout Northern California to migrant farmworkers, in coordination with key partners, to increase the number of survivors identified and referred to services;
•Implement an evidence-based, trauma informed screening tool to assess potential victims of human trafficking;
•Train CBOs throughout Northern California on how to utilize the screening tool and refer survivors to services;
•Develop and maintain partnerships with key entities including worker’s unions, the Mexican Consulate, Immigrant rights groups, the Department of Labor and grassroots community based organizations serving the target community;
•Provision of case management support to victims of human trafficking when needed, including provision of basic needs in a culturally appropriate manner and maintenance of case notes and file documentation.
•Maintain outreach and screening documentation to conform to contract requirements;
•Identify new resources and services in the community. Build partnerships with coalition members and providers and work to connect IRC’s program to available resources;
•Build and maintain relationships with various local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies;
•Attend local coalition meetings and participate in coalition events and trainings;
•Supervise volunteers and interns associated with the program;
•Assist with grant reporting on program objectives and accomplishments;
•Travel in and around the Northern California region to deliver and coordinate activities;
•Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engages as a member of the team;
•Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency;
•Other related duties as assigned.

Other Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: Farmworker Outreach Specialist will develop working relationships with the Anti-Trafficking Caseworker and the Anti-Trafficking Training Specialist to coordinate program services and activities.
External: Farmworker Outreach Specialist will work closely with grant partners to ensure successful outreach activities and service coordination and will network and establish relationships with CBOs and coalitions across Northern California.
