Job Description
Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a world leader in relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict development services for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. The IRC is currently working in over 25 countries around the world, addressing both the immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict affected people in emergencies and the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies. The IRC has been working in Uganda since 1998 supporting IDPs, refugees and local communities. IRC Uganda has it country office in Kampala and regional offices in Kit gum Moroto, and Yumbe. The current program portfolio includes health, protection and rule of law, women’s protection and empowerment, and economic recovery and development programming SCOPE OF WORK: The Clinical Officer – Health Facility In-charge will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient health services in the health facility. They will provide overall leadership, and supervision of the staff at the health facility. S/HE will be the focal person for the implementation of the primary health care activities at the health facility and its catchment community and will work in close collaboration with the Medical Officer. In collaboration with the Medical Officer, assess staff capacity needs at health center level, and coordinate all planned trainings. S/He will ensue that all reports are compiled accurately and submitted on time. RESPONSIBILITIES Management roles: Technical roles: Communication/Reporting 1.Provide regular feedback to the Medical Officer on activity implementation at the Health facility; 2.Assist in preparation of donor reports; 3.Participate in the development and implementation of program work plans. Key working relationships: INTERNAL: Direct supervisor: Medical Officer. Technical support:Medical Officer, Health Manager Other:Logistics, finance, admin staff. EXTERNAL: Govt. of Uganda:District Health Team and other district officials Consortium Members: Other:NGOs, INGOs and UN agencies working in the project region Deadline for receiving applications is February 14th,2020
