Role overview

The Head of Data and Insight will provide strategic leadership and will lead on the data and insight strategy. The role will play a pivotal function in VSO's global leadership team ensuring GDPR-compliant database management to enable data provision across VSO functions.

The role will be responsible for leading a high performing team who produce datasets for supporter communications and develop insight and analysis to inform critical business decisions and strategic focus

As the successful candidate, you will have substantial experience of database marketing processes and using reporting and analysis to influence senior colleagues and improve strategic business performance.

In addition you will have:

Skills/Knowledge
Excellent knowledge and practical experience of using database marketing techniques to deliver results.
People Management - ability to lead, develop, coach and support a high performing team.
Relationship Building - ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation.
A good understanding of data protection legislation and its application to direct marketing activity.
Proven project management skills, with significant experience of delivering projects on time and within quality and resource targets.
Knowledge of the practical application of a variety of models for managing data quality in a complex user environment.
Knowledge of complex campaign design and ability to create a learning culture.
Knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques to create enhanced supporter understanding and effective segmentation and targeting.
Confident to make recommendations and decisions within the remit of data insight expert.

Experience
Experience of working with a large-scale multi-product, multi-audience marketing database with multiple inputs.
Demonstrable experience of using analysis of customer data to improve performance and drive business strategy.
Experience of producing or commissioning analysis of campaign results, customer behaviour, trends and profiles.
Experience of working with Campaign Management and CRM Tools to manage supporter contact strategies

Desirable
Experience of working with BlueVenn and Raiser's Edge.
