Job Description

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Support Services Intern will assist in the management of the contractural and process elements of partnerships in Texas Region 1 (Abilene, Amarillo, El Paso, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa).

COMMITMENT: Hours are flexible, but preferably at least 15 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist program managers with full cycle of grant management, from risk analysis to program closure.

  • Conduct regular review of program database to ensure quality of data and assist with preparation of monthly and annual data reports.

  • Draft content for donor reports.

  • Update procedural manuals and program forms in program area of focus.

  • Assist with desk review and program monitoring of sub-grantee activities though file reviews, client interviews, and drafting  of monitoring reports.

  • Other relevant duties as assigned

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • The intern will gain professional experience in grant management.           

  • The  intern  will  deepen  understanding  of  refugee resettlement and US immigration topics and practices.


Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including outlook, word, excel, publisher, or other design software.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential;

  • Prior experience in a non-profit setting and with refugees beneficial, but not required;

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently;

  • Must be comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment;

  • Flexibility and ability to juggle multiple tasks successfully.

This is an unpaid internship position. No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation, is available.
