Job Description

Scope: The part time Asylee Case Aide provides support to the Asylee Walk-in Program to provide clients who have been newly granted asylum access to services at the Suburban Washington Resettlement Center (SWRC) both through referral and walk-ins.  The case aide will ensure that all clients receive high quality services and access to case management services, cash assistance, employment opportunities and other transitional adjustment services in accordance with government contracts and IRC internal policies and procedures. This position reports to the Asylee Caseworker and is for 3 days per week.

Essential Job Functions: 
•Support caseworkers with comprehensive intake and assessment for designated families and develop plans in partnerships with families to meet their needs;
•Help caseworkers to maintain comprehensive, up-to-date case-note services log containing detailed information about service provision;
•Maintain copies of all appropriate documents, referral letters, forms and other data in client case files
•Assist with orientation and counseling on RTCA benefits, information on the Match Grant and Temporary Cash Assistance for non-RTCA eligible clients;
•Comply with agency policies/protocol and case management best practices;
•Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops as requested by the IRC and partner agencies;
•Other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

Job Requirements: 
•High school diploma required; some university education preferred.
•Job related training and experience in case management, social services or social work a plus.
•Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual ability in French, Spanish, Tigrinya or Amharic is desired. 
•Detail oriented with the proven ability to meet deadlines 
•Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); 
•Ability to work in a fast-paced and multicultural setting
•Must have a valid driver’s, valid vehicle insurance and reliable transportation for work related use.
 
Working Environment: 
•Willingness to occasionally provide services outside of normal work hours (evenings and weekends).
