Job Description

Welcome to the Fellowship Programme

Within the Programme, we are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join the Learning and Development Group, part of the Human Resources Department at CERN, helping to build and promote a culture of learning and development.  Your contributions will ensure that the learning programmes are aligned with the strategic goals and evolving needs of the organization.

MAIN DUTIES:

-      Language Programme (50%):

  • Under the supervision of the programme coordinator, manage the daily activities of the language training programme;
  • Manage the evaluation process, including conducting online feedback surveys, analyzing data and producing reports/minutes.
  • Participate in the preparation for the call for tender for an external language training provider

-      Learning and development specialists tasks (50%):

  • Assist with the review & design of specific staff and development training programmes in other learning portfolios with a view to introducing or as need be reviewing e-learning content;
  • CERN Onboarding Programme (quarterly session): Co-deliver public presentations and coordinate key note speakers;
  • CERN Learning Management System: test and assist in developing procedures and processes related to the new system.

Qualifications

For this position within the Programme, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • You have a Bachelors or Masters level in the field of Human Resources, Learning and Development, Instructional Design or Organizational Development and a maximum limit of 4 years’ experience after completion of your degree.
  • Some experience in digital communication and e-learning products, specifically in the framework of blended learning.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems  and authoring tools for e-learning
  • Ability to work with autonomy, flexibility and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong service orientation.
  • Highly proficient in English, have a good knowledge of French. Writing skills in both official languages is necessary.

CERN would very much like to benefit from your expertise, commitment and passion.  In return, CERN will provide you with:

  • An employment contract for between six months (minimum) up to a maximum of 36 months.
  • A stipend ranging from 5,281 to 6,558 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).
  • Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
  • Depending on your individual circumstances: an installation grant, family, child and infant allowances as well as travel expenses to and from Geneva.
  • 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
