Job Description

The Reproductive Health Officer will assist the RH Doctor to oversee Reproductive Health programming in the IDP camps and conflicted affected townships in Northern Shan and Southern Kachin State. She will visit sites to deliver SRH sessions and services to the community. The RH Officer will work with volunteer IDP and CSO focal points to provide services in areas with limited humanitarian access.

  • Provide emergency health services and consultation for GBV cases ensuring clinical care for sexual assault survivors
  • Assist with development of RH awareness raising curriculum and IEC materials in collaboration with the WPE RH Doctor and IRC health team
  • Build capacity of community caseworkers and focal points to provide RH awareness raising sessions
  • Conduct awareness raising sessions with women and adolescent girls on reproductive health
  • Conduct RH awareness and advocacy to community leaders and men within the community
  • Deploy in emergencies to ensure basic clinical care for GBV survivors and RH services to displaced IDP populations through direct provision or coordinating with partners to ensure services and providing remote support
  • Raise purchase requests for SRH materials and sessions
  • Work with community stakeholders, Camp Committees and local CSOs
  • Submit monthly M&E data
  • Other duties as defined by the Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree in relevant field
  • Experience as a nurse or midwife required
  • Preferred experience with Clinical Care for Sexual Assault survivors and working on the integration of violence against women in the health sector
  • Strong Commitment of women’s rights/ human rights is required
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent written and verbal Myanmar and English skills
  • Excellent command of MS-Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)

Myanmar nationals with relevant skills sets and proven experience of working at international level are strongly encouraged.
