Job Overview:

The Family Reunification Assistant will assess eligibility and complete family reunification applications, including Priority Three Affidavits of Relationship (P3 AORs) and Lautenberg applications (Former Soviet Union Program and Iranian Program). This is position will report to the Resettlement Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake and needs assessment and determine client eligibility for available programs and services.
  • Inform clients about the basic requirements related to applying for FSU AOR and P3 AORs.
  • Conduct outreach activities into refugee, asylee, Ukraine immigrant populations to inform eligible individuals about the availability of program services
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and detailed case notes on immigration services provided to clients, enter required data in a timely manner, and meet all case reporting requirements within established deadlines and standards.
  • Re-submit information in IRIS on required corrections or updates on initial submitted application
  • Process correspondence from IRC headquarter Program Officer for Family Reunification in a timely manner, notify clients of correspondence received
  • Conduct follow-up services and make appropriate referrals to support services as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

Position Reports to: Resettlement Manager 
Position directly supervises: Interns

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience working with immigration or resettlement programs preferred.
  • Fluency in Russian and/or Ukrainian language strongly preferred.
  •  Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  •  Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain tight deadlines required.
  •  Clear written and verbal communication skills required.
  •  Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, required.
