Organizational Setting
This position is located in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) which provides oversight of the programmes and operations of the Organization, through internal audit, inspection and investigation.
Main Purpose
The Audit/Investigation Assistant performs a variety of routine administrative and audit, inspection or investigation support functions, contributing to the efficient delivery of work by the audit or investigation teams in OIG.
Supervision Received/Exercised
The Audit/Investigation Assistant works under the direct supervision of a senior auditor or investigator and may receive guidance from other audit or investigation professionals. He/she acts independently in routine matters and consults with supervisor(s) on new and/or more complex issues and procedures. Supervision received provides for technical and procedural guidance and on-the-job learning. The incumbent is also subject to the general supervision of the Office Associate in respect of editing texts and OIG general administration tasks whenever assigned to them.
The Audit/Investigation Assistant interacts with a wide variety of colleagues from within the Office and with immediate clients providing routine administrative and audit/inspection/investigation support services.
Key Functions/Results
Collect background information from various sources for the preparation and execution of audit, inspection and investigation plans;
Assist audit teams with evidence gathering for audit, inspection and investigation assignments; participate in related meetings and missions as required;
Enter, retrieve, structure and update selected information and data in the Office's information systems and data bases; present results in standard format;
Prepare electronic audit and inspection working papers, to be filed in OIG's audit database, or investigation and inspection case file documents, in accordance with standards and requirements;
Edit and format draft audit, inspection or investigation reports; collate tables, exhibits, reports, presentations, statistics and other documentation;
Perform a large variety of routine administrative tasks contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the Office;
Respond to routine internal and external enquiries and/or refer to appropriate contacts/units;
Assist with monitoring and preparation of data for OIG office-wide support functions as required;
Perform other functions as required.
The Audit/Investigation Assistant participates as part of a team in the provision of audit, inspection or investigation support services. Actions reflect on the immediate and wider work unit.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
Education\: Secondary School Education
Experience\: Three years of experience in the provision of auditing, investigation, financial, legal and/or administrative support functions
Languages\: Working knowledge (Level C) of English and limited knowledge (Level B) of one of the other FAO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
IT Skills\: Good knowledge of the MS Office applications, Internet and office technology equipment

Desirable Qualifications and Skills
• Good drafting and editing ability in English is considered a strong asset
