Job Description
The Staff Health Advisor will partner closely with the Senior Director, Duty of Care and the Health Unit to provide high-quality technical support to global staff on health-related matters, including communicable disease research and general clinical care. This position will provide counsel in the creation and modification of organizational health policies, and participate in instructional sessions with a variety of stakeholders. Major Responsibilities: Act as a staff-facing point of escalation for clinically-related questions which relate to IRC’s Human Resources policies Conduct technical training and ongoing technical coaching for staff in all IRC locations on communicable disease control Partner with IRC’s Health teams on the drafting, review, and communication of policies related to COVID-19 response Provide partnership and clinically-relevant thought leadership to Global HR on issues related to COVID-19 response Demonstrate excellent project management and knowledge management skills to coordinate programs and drive the creation, modification, alignment, and communication of international policies Develop clinically appropriate communications materials related to COVID-19 Share cross-context learning with HR staff across IRC’s global headquarters and program sites Participate in and advise strategic initiatives in the Global Human Resources department, and participate in joint initiatives with other IRC departments as agreed upon by the supervisor As required, Represent the IRC in academic fora, donor meetings, inter-agency working groups, and various global/regional fora as assigned by the supervisor Proactively manage project risks, dependencies, issues, gaps and resource conflicts. Engage and facilitate meetings with stakeholders across globally distributed business units, and coordinate stakeholder communications. Provide timely input and progress reporting processes. Ensure that project communications are timely, relevant and accurate, including regular status updates.
Qualifications
5-10 years of experience as a licensed medical care provider (medical doctor or registered nurse) Training in tropical medicine and public health Experience working in humanitarian contexts Experience working with large organizations Preferred experience & skills: Working Environment: #LI-GR1
