Learning and Knowledge Management Officer

at GOAL South Sudan

Job Purpose

The Learning and Knowledge Management Officer will be responsible for knowledge management planning, content design and production, strategic dissemination, outreach and targeted engagement. Tasks will focus on designing resources and visualization tools needed to make data and findings accessible to targeted audiences. This will include info-graphics, graphs, charts, one-page snapshots and/or summaries of findings, and other user-friendly products within and outside the wider RECOVER programming.

Duties and responsibilities

Supporting organisational learning

  • Responsible for documenting and production of best practices, lessons learnt success stories and other communication. Strategically disseminate findings, knowledge and guidance through various avenues, including but not limited to communities of practice, virtual or on-site workshops, conferences, and webinars, at global, regional or country-specific levels.
  • Lead and support learning events, conduct research, produce resources and guidance, and facilitate ongoing content development and engagement.
  • Develop and undertake evidence-based analysis and studies related to Food Security, Resilience, and climate change adaption to inform project activities

Reporting

  • Responsible for RECOVER Quarterly, and annual reports
  • Publish reports, highlight success stories, communicate program impact/overall results
  • Participate in the process of annual program review and planning;

Dissemination

  • Responsible for oversight of the RECOVER research database. Providing guidance as necessary to the M&E and data management team; and engage in analysis, data verification and publication/dissemination processes;
  • Promotes innovation throughout the project intervention, sharing of knowledge and good practices and encourage staff to do that same;
  • Document and share learning – ensure requirements, lessons learned, and best practices for products, events, and other knowledge management activities are clear and documented

Requirements (Person Specification)

Essential

  • MSc Degree in relevant field
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a position with similar responsibilities and tasks

  • Proven report writing skills in English (required)

  • A basic understanding of statistical analysis

Desirable

  • Good contextual knowledge of South Sudan ‐ social, cultural and economic context, priorities and constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and independently within a multi-cultural team with differing areas of expertise.

General Description of the Programme/GOAL

Resilient Communities via Economic Recovery (RECOVER) is a consortium led by GOAL, in partnership with MERCY CORPS and Universal Network for Knowledge and Empowerment Agency (UNKEA). Funded by the UK’s Department of International Development (DFID), the project is designed to improve well-being of targeted communities through, sustainable & diversified livelihoods and improved food security. The project is implemented in six counties - Rubkona & Panyinjar in legacy Unity State and Ulang & Melut in legacy Upper Nile State.
