Organizational Setting

The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's Major Programme 2, "Nuclear Techniques for Development and Environmental Protection". This Major Programme comprises individual programmes on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment and radiation technologies. These programmes are supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. The Major Programme's objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to meet basic human needs and to assess and manage the marine and terrestrial environments through the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in sustainable development programmes.

The Division of Human Health is organized into four Sections whose objectives are to enhance the capabilities of Member States to address needs related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of health problems through the development and application of nuclear techniques within a framework of quality assurance.

The Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Section's primary objective is to enhance Member States' capabilities to use nuclear medicine and other imaging technologies efficiently, mainly, but not limited to cancer and cardiac diseases, and for undertaking related basic and clinical research. To achieve those goals, special attention is given to the preparation of educational resources, guidelines and guidance documents.
 


Main Purpose

As a consultant of the Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Section (NMDI), the Presentation Specialist will produce and deliver visual presentations for internal and external needs. In addition, he/she will contribute to the management of the NMDI Coordinated Research Project (CRP) Databases as well as the Nuclear Medicine Database (NUMDAB) and the IAEA Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine Global Resources Database (IMAGINE) using IAEA specific software applications.



Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Advise on and contribute to the creative design of promotional materials to increase visibility and awareness of NMDI Section; 
  • Collect and collate data obtained through eight on-going Coordinated Research Projects (CRPs) of the NMDI Section; 
  • Verify the anonymization of DICOM files transferred to IAEA as part of the CRPs E13037 and E13048 before sending them to respective core-labs; 
  • Design Java programming of electronic case report forms for NMDI CRPs; 
  • Liaise with CRP project officer and brief them on the status of CRP data collection; 
  • Promote, through correspondence with relevant centres, their registration in the Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging database (NUMDAB); 
  • Verify data of the IMAGINE database.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree in International Marketing, Project Management, International Relations or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of working experience in developing and reviewing multimedia content;
  • Experience in the design of promotional and outreach material as well as visual aids for presentations;
  • Experience in Java programming for designing;
  • Experience in web content management; and
  • Experience in management of databases.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) an asset.


Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 240, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
