SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a private, non-political and non-denominational child welfare organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. We have been working in Bangladesh since 1972. Presently SOS Bangladesh is working in six locations in the country. To support us with this important task, applications are invited for the following position:

National Director (f/m)
Location: SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh Mirpur Road, Dhaka, Bangladesh

Mission
  • The National Director act as a chief executive of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh and responsible for all affairs at national level.  
  • Develop and implement the “Aims, Objectives and Policies” of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh. 
  • Responsible to represent SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh and build network & collaborate with key stakeholders such as government, development sector agencies and potential partners for programme objectives.  
  • Act as a custodian of brand and continue to enhance brand identity across the country.
 Tasks & Responsibilites
  • Identify and align the federation strategies and policies at the national level based on local needs and realities. 
  • Develop and implement development-plans for the organisation at national level and in conformity with the policies of the organisation. 
  • Collaborate with all project in-charge to ensure implementation of agreed plans at project level. 
  • Regularly liaise and coordinate with the CVI Representative with a clear aim to strengthen the functioning of SOS in Bangladesh. 
  • Ensure implementation of policies and standards of the organisation. 
  • Represent organisation at national level and propagate the SOS-Model with relevant stakeholders. Build network and collaborate with key stakeholders such as government, development sector agencies and potential partners for programme objectives. 
  • Participate and perform necessary activities in case of an emergency situation.  
  • Work towards self-sustainability; strengthen the local fund raising initiatives. 
  • As custodian of brand, ensures that brand principles followed and brand identity enhanced across the country.
Requirements
  • Post Graduate degree in management or social science 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of working at managerial level in NGO 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in local language and English.  
  • High interpersonal skills; ability to involve and engage with stakeholders 
  • Strong leadership and people management skills 
  • Task oriented for time bound deliverables 
  • Strong analytical and advocacy skills 
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs 
  • Ability to operate at strategical level and operationalise the plans in field
  • Good computer skills  
  • Ability and willing to travel as and when required 
  • Experience of working in Bangladesh
