UNICEF Thailand Country Office is seeking a qualified individual to support the work of the communication and fundraising sections in UNICEF Thailand on a shared bases under the supervision of the communication and fundraising chiefs.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Thailand Country Office is seeking a qualified individual to support the work of the communication and fundraising sections in UNICEF Thailand on a shared bases under the supervision of the communication and fundraising chiefs.

 

Background and Purpose of Assignment:

To assist the communication and fundraising sections with content development, event management, and campaign implementation.

 

Work Assignment:

  • Support the development of communication and fundraising content in various formats in English and Thai (text, visual, video-based).
  • Possibility to visit locations and project sites to interview children, young people, and UNICEF’s partners to write stories and blogs, social media content, capture photos, and collect communication assets.
  • Support the implementation of activities conducted for communication, advocacy, and fundraising purposes including events as needed.
  • Support the implementation of supporter engagement events and activities (including activities for engaging young people, school students, UNICEF digital supporters, and volunteers).
  • Work with the Communication Associate and Communication Specialist to support updating the photo/video archive (including English captioning, organizing visual assets).
  • As needed- contribute to the development of public advocacy and fundraising campaigns.
  • Other task may include: general assistance to the Communications and the Fundraising sections.

 

Duration of Assignment:  3 months starting in July 2020 (Full time: Mon-Fri)

 

Official Travel: Possibly locally within Thailand.

 

Qualifications:

  • Be currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of a Bachelor or Master’s Degree programme in a development or communication-related field, such as journalism, marketing, international relations, political science, anthropology, sociology, public or business administration.
  • Knowledgeable in using social media platforms and tools.
  • Interest in social and development issues, communication and fundraising.
  • Familiarity with child right principles is a plus.
  • Fluent in both English and Thai languages (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of marketing and communication is an asset.
  • Interest in creating content for a wide variety of audience.
  • Excellent communication skills and solid analytical skills.
  • Open to learning new skills and gaining experience in the development field.
  • Strong commitment to child rights and human rights and passion for UNICEF’s mission.
  • Flexibility and ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Thai Nationality.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office.
  • Have no other relatives in the line of authority which the intern will report to.

 

Conditions of Intern:

  1. Expenses: Unpaid internship with stipend according to UNICEF’s guideline is applicable.
  2. Health/Medical insurance: UNICEF accepts no responsibility for costs or fatality arising from illness or accidents incurred during the internship whether on or off UNICEF premises.  The intern must carry adequate and regular medical insurance.  The intern will be required to provide with a proof of medical insurance prior to commence work.
  3. Confidentiality. The intern is required to respect the confidentiality of information that s/he collect or is exposed to at UNICEF. No reports or papers may be published based on information obtained from UNICEF without the explicit written authorization by the Head of Office or Division Director.
  4. Impartiality. The intern is required to respect the impartiality and independence required of UNICEF and will not seek or accept instructions regarding the services performed under the internship agreement from any Government or from any authority external to UNICEF.
  5. Employment Prospects. There is no expectance of employment at the end of the internship.

 

Provision of Supervising and Monitoring:  The intern will work under the supervision of Communication Chief and the Fundraising Chief. 

 

Location: UNICEF Thailand Country Office, Bangkok.
