Organizational Setting The FAO Subregional Office for the Pacific Islands is located in Apia, Samoa and covers the 14 Pacific Island countries. The project “Enhancing livelihoods and food security through nearshore fish aggregating device fisheries in the Pacific” is funded by the Government of Japan for a three-year period and includes seven Small Island Developed States in the Pacific (Fiji, Kiribati, Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Tuvalu and Vanuatu). The project will focus on the safe development of nearshore fish aggregation device (FAD) fisheries supported by co-management approaches and the development of value adding and alternative livelihoods to diversity income sources. The four main areas of intervention are\:
Reporting Lines The National Project Assistant will be under the overall supervision of the Project Technical Team Leader and will work closely with the Project Operations Specialist, Project Consultants and National Project Coordinator. Technical Focus The National Project Assistant provides operational, administrative and finance support to the implementation and monitoring of the project, for timely delivery of its outcomes and outputs Tasks and responsibilities
