Job Description
The International Rescue Committee in NY and NJ has partnered with World Central Kitchen to distribute meals to community members and IRC clients in NY and NJ sites. Food Distribution Workers will work out of the food distribution locations to pack and give meals to site visitors. Major Responsibilities: Set up and prepare sites for food distribution including placing tables, food, and assigning roles. Greet clients coming to the site for food. Take orders from clients to ask how many people in their family to determine the number of meals. Pack orders into bags or boxes and place on table for clients to take. Ensure safety protocols are followed to ensure clients and volunteers are safe. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Good communication skills; experience in a multi-cultural environment preferred. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Must be able to work flexible hours; possibly weekends. May require physical ability to stand, lift and pack/unpack boxes, etc. Strict adherence to established safety protocols.
