MAIN GOAL:

Working in one of our missions as WatSan Manager means planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring all the logistics activities in the water, health and sanitation project, according to our protocols and standards to ensure optimal project management

Accountability:

  • Working in collaboration with other profiles, planning, elaborating and revising the annual budget for Water and Sanitation (Watsan) activities, in order to identify and respond to the needs of the mission and the target population
  • Monitor the implementation of WatSan activities in the project on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with MSF standards, protocols and procedures and reporting to the project coordinator on the development of ongoing programs, including: design, implement and manage all WatSan's interventions in the project; do routine assessments in collaboration with medical teams to identify WatSan's needs at the project level and make recommendations for response activities; guaranteeing the availability, purchase and appropriate technical specifications of the materials and equipment needed through the planning, organization and supervision of the WatSan inventory
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of processes associated with human resources (recruitment, training, briefing / debriefing, evaluation, identification of potential, development and communication) of the staff under its responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge necessary to properly perform all WatSan activities related to your area
  • Ensure proper collection and monitoring of WatSan data through an analysis of the same and periodic reporting of results

Essential requirements:

  • Essential secondary education and technical diploma or technical university degree
  • At least 24 months of professional experience in the field of hydraulic and sewer works and at least 6 months of WatSan professional experience in a context of humanitarian or international development
  • Desirable familiarity with the implementation or use of activities involving at least two of the following areas: water supply, waste and waste water management and disposal, vector control and management of bodies, in two or more different contexts (conflicts, natural disasters, refugee camps / displaced persons)
  • English and French level B2
  • Availability of 9-12 months

Preferential requirements:

  • Background or public health experience
  • Other desired languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic level B2
