The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer

NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, food security, livelihoods, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors. The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 6000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. NRC runs the world's largest standby rosters NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours’ notice when a crisis occurs.  
NRC in the Islamic Republic of Iran NRC started operations in Iran in 2012. We currently deliver humanitarian assistance in 9 provinces in the sectors of Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA). We co-lead several technical inter-agency working groups and provide capacity building to humanitarian partners in country. Next to our programs, NRC Iran also built an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives among INGOs to improve rights of the displaced.   Following several recent breakthroughs, NRC Iran is scaling up substantially its activities in support of the Government of Iran efforts towards an estimated 3,6 million Afghans residing in country and is expanding its programme unit.     

Role and responsibilities
The ICT Coordinator’s role is to improve the ways in which information technology supports NRC’s work. The Coordinator is responsible for planning resources, contributing to the development and implementation of services and making sure that the lessons learnt are captured and shared.

Generic responsibilities

  • Accountable for adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures and the global ICT Strategy.
  • Responsible to analyse the needs and to develop clear country specific ICT requirements and plans.
  • Responsible for timely and high quality delivery of ICT hardware, software and services to the country programme.
  • Line management, delegation of tasks and responsibilities to ICT staff.
  • Contribute to programme quality and effectiveness by identifying relevant ICT tools.
  • Responsible for risk analysis related to ICT, mitigation and reporting to the CMG as appropriate.
  • Responsible for high quality and timely reports to the Country Management Group (CMG)
  • Promote the rights of refugees and displaced in line with the advocacy strategy
  • Ensure that key learning are extracted from operations regarding protection, and incorporate them into program strategy and staff development processes.

Specific responsibilities

  • Coordinate the roll out of O365 in NRC Iran
  • Contribute to the submission and obtaining of required OFAC license for US Assets/Software in collaboration with Compliance unit or development of alternative solutions
  • Implement the recommendations from HO ICT Security Assessment
  • Responsible for skills gap and capacity building to ensure that all staff has the necessary level of knowledge on NRC’s ICT systems and procedures.
  • Contribute to the Financial Service Provider assessment for Cash Assistance modality in NRC Iran
