Organizational Setting The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) – Tanzania Country Office - is intending to implement the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) programme in Tanzania. The FFF programme is a multi-donor programme housed within the Forestry Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). It provides direct financial support and technical assistance to strengthen forest and farm producer organizations (FFPOs) representing smallholders, rural women’s groups, local communities and indigenous peoples’ institutions. Collectively, forest and farm producers have the potential to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and to respond to climate change at landscape scales. Reporting Lines The incumbent will work under the overall guidance of the FAO Country Representative in Tanzania and the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme). The Programme Officer will also work in close collaboration with the Country FFF Facilitator who will oversee the overall project implementation. Technical Focus In this regard, FAO is seeking to engage Programme Officer who will, among other tasks, make sure that the project is aligned with the country’s needs and priorities. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the FAO Country Office supporting team as well as other experts responsible for the project implementation.
