Operational Manager, Covid-19 (Bangladesh)

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Contract type: Fixed term – until end of 2020. Seconded to IFRC **

Salary: � 36,750 pa

British Red Cross are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead, alongside Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, on the national covid-19 response plan for IFRC in Bangladesh. The IFRC has prepared a Country Plan of Action (CPoA) to support the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) in its preparedness, response and mitigation efforts. The post holder will provide the operational lead to ensure the effective coordination and delivery of the nationwide component of the IFRC COVID-19 emergency appeal operation. You will be contracted by British Red Cross and seconded into IFRC.

The British Red Cross work alongside the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and IFRC in country to coordinate and support humanitarian response to vulnerable communities throughout Bangladesh.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with 192 member National Societies. Its aim is to ensure excellent support to National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in serving vulnerable people and partnering with communities along the continuum from crisis prevention and disaster risk reduction and preparedness, to disaster and crisis response and recovery, to communities’ longer-term development journey of continuously building safe, health and resilient communities, while building strong National Societies.

To support the BDRCS and IFRC reach its aims we’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic individual with experience in managing large emergency response operations with an understanding of recovery programming. You will need to be able to build organisational partnerships and be comfortable working both as an adviser and decision maker and take an active role in capacity building. Experience working with institutional donors and managing budgets and reporting requirements will also be key.
