Project Coordinator (COVID 19 Response) (m/f/d) - National position

Malteser International is working in Myanmar since 2001 and currently employs more than 350 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states, where our work aims at ensuring communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions, and provide relief after disasters. Malteser International strives to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable approach.


 

 

 
Malteser International is in search of a Project Coordinator for the implementation of a short term Covid 19 Response Project (5 month) in East Shan State. The project includes a need assessment and the procurement and distribution of Hygiene and Personal Protection Equipment and is embedded in the MI area program.

In support of our work in Shan State, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Project Coordinator (COVID 19 Response) (m/f/d) - National position (Short-term contract).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the timely and effective implementation of project activities according to set targets, indicators and approved plans and budget and take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at project site
  • Strengthen mechanisms for appropriate planning and implementation of project activities in close cooperation with the project team in order to meet deadlines
  • Ensure regular monitoring in adherence to the Malteser International M&E standards and application of relevant Monitoring tools 
  • Represent the project and build and maintain good relations with local communities, local authorities, international and national organizations represented in the target area
  • Ensure with the project support team the sound financial management (review, compliance of budget), administration and logistics (timely preparation, approval and quality control of all procurement) of the project
  • Provide input for project planning and evaluation, including conducting assessments, data collection, surveys and actively participating in planning workshops and meetings, ensuring beneficiary and stakeholder participation in the planning process

    Carry out any other relevant duties – according to his/her professional capacities and position in the organization – as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Country Coordinator

Qualifications:

  • University degree (Public Health) or equivalent in relevant field
  • At least 5 years’ experience, from which most of them should be in a management position in humanitarian aid or development field
  • Experience in writing activity reports that both describes and analyses progress or lack of such
  • Proven skills in operation computer and common applications like MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Language skills: Myanmar and English
  • Interpersonal skills as a leader providing and setting a good example for the team members to follow
  • Interest and motivation to work in remote areas

Conditions:

  • Start Date: as soon as possible
  • Duty Station: Kyaing Tong Townships and frequently travelling to project area, Shan State, Myanmar
  • Duration of contract: Until 31st Dec 2020 (Short Term)
