The Position:

The GBV Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the UNFPA field and sub-offices, area humanitarian country teams, the GBV Programme Specialist and other sectors and programme units. The GBV Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate the implementation of multi-sectoral, interagency GBV interventions at the national level.

You will report directly to the Representative.

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible of GBV prevention and response programme coordination & monitoring; GBV coordination in humanitarian situations, including GBV IMS and Strengthening of CO’s strategic partnerships.

Education:  

Advanced University Degree(Master) in social work or other social sciences, public health, community health, international relations, international law, human rights or related field.

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Minimum 5 years of experience working on gender-based violence, preferably in a humanitarian context.

• Experience leading inter-agency coordination mechanisms with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Demonstrable knowledge of the critical components to facilitate effective inter-agency coordination.

•  Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of how GBV manifests in humanitarian settings and ability to describe context-specific prevention and response actions.

• Demonstrable knowledge of humanitarian emergency operations, including the Cluster System and HPC, and roles/responsibilities of key humanitarian actors.

• Experience designing and managing GBV programmes (recommended).

Languages: 

Fluency in both written and spoken English and working knowledge of other UN language, preferably Arabic.
