At WFP, we are looking for a talented Senior Full Stack Developer hired as a Consultant. The duration of the project is 6 months, with a potential extension to 11 months. Further extensions can be considered subject to performance, and a mandatory 1-month break will be required after 11 months. Considering the COVID-19 situation, the selected candidate would be asked to work fully or partially remotely during the assignment period. 

You will be part of the HR Technology and Analytics Branch (HRMOI) that is responsible for on-going support to critical HR operational processes through the appropriate provision and application of information, processes, and enabling technologies.

 

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for:

  1. Participate as lead developer to the development of our new HR Performance appraisal platform. Collaborate with the project manager and in-house and externals developers to deliver the new functionalities requested by the business team. Assure quality control and ensure deadlines are met.
  2. Maintain, optimize, and improve the existing HR web-based applications to ensure a robust, reliable, efficient, and ‘bug-free’ quality technology experience for the HR team and end-users.
  3. Work collaboratively with HR business units to develop and add new functionalities and modules to the existing HR web-based applications.
  4. Provide and maintain the documentation required for quality insurance and future maintenance of the system.
  5. Conduct unit, regression, and performance testing. Develop test scripts for end-users if needed.
  6. Maintain and improve the existing data interfaces between the web-based applications and other HR systems, including the HR core system (SAP). Promote the usage of API and work with the other HR developers to set the basement for an HR API catalog in line with the API gateway initiative of our Technology department.
  7. Collaborate and partner with other HR in-house developers and the teams to ensure the HR technical developments are done in compliance with the FIAF guidelines and coherently integrated with other corporate technology platforms.
  8. Work collaboratively with the team leader and the other HR in-house developers to improve the development/deployment environment, to explore the opportunities to move the HR applications to the cloud, and to improve the user’s authentication mechanisms.
  9. Support on the definition and adjustment of the HR systems/technical architecture with the vision of an implementation of an HCM system.
  10. Analyze, monitor risks, and conduct the data migration from Oracle to another database engine.
  11. Migrate the control panel related to our internal staffing process to another platform.
  12. Other tasks as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field of study.
     

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive professional experience as Developer ideally full-stack Developer.
     

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven and successful Web Application Development experience in PHP including MVC framework (Laravel, CodeIgniter).
  • Experience through the different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud technologies (such as OpenShift, AWS).
  • Excellent and demonstrated capability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Good knowledge of MySQL and Oracle Databases (Procedures, Data modeling)
  • Good experience building single-page applications using React.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Experience in Java server-side programming.
  • Experience with Linux OS and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience configuring/administrating application servers such as Apache and Tomcat considered a plus.

 

Languages:

  • Fluency (level C) in oral and written English is essential.

 

Candidates will be asked to provide evidence of their work, with samples of PHP coding work. A technical assessment will also be part of the recruitment process. Immediate availability preferred.
