Project Overview:

ICMPD is inviting all interested candidates to apply for the Associate Project Officer - Communications position for the MIgration EU eXpertise+ (MIEUX+) initiative.

MIEUX+ strengthens the capacitiesof public authorities to bettermanage migration and mobility in all its dimensions through the provision of tailor-made peer-to-peer expertise assistance. As a global migration capacity-building programme,MIEUX+ provides peer-to-peer expertiseto partner countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The overall objective of MIEUX+ is to contribute to safe, orderly and regular migration. The specific objective is to improve migration governance at national, regional and global levels. MIEUX+ is made up of four inter-twined hubs (Hub 1 – Expertise, Hub 2 - Action, Hub 3 - Knowledge, Innovation and Trends, and Hub 4 - Networks and Partnerships) mutually reinforcing and complementing each other. Please note that this position is subject to approval and availability of project funds. Job Description:

The Associate Project Officer-Communications supports the implementation of project activities. S/he contributes to organisation of project activities and administration of project inputs according to the approvedprojectdocumentation,workplansandbudgets,andinlinewithICMPD´srulesandbusiness processes. The Associate Project Officer-Communications supports content creation and production of communication products for MIEUX’s website, newsletter and social media channels; monitors media coverage and conducts a press review; assists with, day-to-day dealings with communications- related suppliers. S/he contributes to the formulation and design of substantive project outputs and to the implementation of project communications activities.

1The Associate Project Officer-Communications works under the supervision of the Senior Project ManageraswellastheKnowledgeandCommunicationSpecialist andinclosecollaborationwithother members of the project team. S/he collaborates with project assistant(s) for implementation of administrative activities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Implementation of project activities:

Contribute to the timely accomplishment of of communication activities in line with MIEUX+’s Communciation Strategy and work plan.

Support mobilisation of experts, goods and services, capacity building and grants schemes, including preparation of inputs to Terms of References and specifications and follow up on recruitment and contracting process.

Support coordination of consultants and contractors ensuring that communications content and outputs are produced timely, according to work plan and ICMPD´s quality standards as well as the donor’s visibility guidelines. Follow-up on processes and work deliverables; Contribute to editing, proofreading, design and layout of written content (reports, studies, presentations, policy papers, publications) as well as online content (videos, social media posts, newsletters, website texts and articles) in MIEUX’s official languages;

Design and organise support for communications at MIEUX+ events, meetings, workshops and other activities with a focus on visual and promotional content (press releases, factsheets, flyers, brochures, banners, presentations) in line with MIEUX+, ICMPD and donor brand guidelines. 2. Project administration and compliance:

Support the implementation of communication activities in an efficient and cost-effective manner in line with the work plan and budget. Propose corrective actions to the Senior Project Manager and Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist, as required; Implement administrative activities and processes in accordance with ICMPD rules and established business processes.

Monitor and update MIEUX+’s key performance indicators for communications under the supervision of the Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist.

Proactively support the overall management of the project through Sharepoint. Propose improvements to MIEUX’s Project Space and contribute to its continuous refinement; Contribute to the compliance of activities within the assigned area with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and EU visibility guidelines.

Maintain and archive project documentation and content (written, visual, digital) electronically as well as on hard copy files.

3. Project content:

Identify communications ideas. Provide inputs to new communications concepts, proposals, work plans and budgets;

Support the interviews with MIEUX stakeholders and publish them in various formats (blog, video interview, social media quotes).

Contribute to the design communication products (social media, website and newsletter). 2 Support the review and revision of communications content and ensure that communications outputs are produced according to ICMPD´s quality standards and donor visibility guidelines. Support the creation of visual materials for publications, web, presentations and social media. Support the formulation of analytical and substantive project inputs. Desk research and collection of information and documentation and draft inputs.

Prepare inputs to briefs, background papers, presentations, speeches.

Conduct desk research, collect and analyse information and prepare documents. Edit, review the translations and proof-read documents. Compile materials and inputs for communications activities.

Support in the dissemination of project content through various channels. Update project contacts database on Sharepoint and on ICMPD’s newsletter software channel (CleverReach);.

Participate in conferences/meetings/seminars relevant for the project’s communications; Participate in the ICMPD Communicators’ Working Group and the Brussels Mission Communications Group

Support the coordination and cross-fertilisation of activities with the ICMPD Brussels Mission for communication related activities regarding the Global Initiatives Programme. Key Results:

Support provided to ensure that the MIEUX+ Communication Strategy is implemented; Communication activities organised and implemented according to the MIEUX+ work plan under the supervision of the Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist ; Communications content defined, formulated and produced in line with ICMPD’s and donor requirements under the supervision of the Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist;

Timely and qualitative contributions made to production of communication outputs. Communications lessons learnt and good practices identified, documented and shared Incumbent Profile:

A minimum of 1 year of experience communications, in the field of migration or international development is an asset. Excellent communication and writing skills and proven ability to present detailed, technical information in a more concise and clear manner.

Professional experience in, story-telling/editing/proofreading.

Experience with online content creation, social media management and online newsletter tools. Experience with Content Management Systems, Google Analytics and media monitoring tools is an asset.

Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.

Experience with managing databases and video editing software.

Corporate Qualifications:

Experience in international context and diverse working environments, cultural sensitivity. Proficiency in (verbal/written) English and French, proficiency in Spanish or Arabic is an asset. Master´s degree related to the area of work.

3Compensation:

ICMPD offers an attractive compensation package. This position is classified at IP1 Grade, with an annual net-base salary starting at EUR 35,484. Additional benefits include participation in the ICMPD Provident Fund, Health and Accident Insurance, six weeks’ annual leave and, where applicable, dependent’s and mobility allowances.
