Unit Overview:

The Internship is located in Corporate Financial Management Unit. The position is for a period of three months.

Under the overall responsibility of the Head of CFM and the direct supervision of the Financial controller, and in collaboration with the CFM team, the intern will support the team in maintaining a proper archiving system and in the submission and the preparation of the supporting documentations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist the team in archiving the supporting documentation.

Support the team in collecting the supporting documentation of the audit samples. Assist in data entry the individual provident fund bank accounts, based on the available documentation saved and recorded in ICMPD’s records;

Assist in the verification on banking data and invested amounts;

Assist in recalculation and reconciliation of payroll date with provident fund investment statements;

Work with other colleagues to collect various data for the Provident Fund archive folder; Analyze and suggest solutions to optimize Provident Fund investment workflow; Support the implementation of the integrated provident fund workflow and its reporting process;

Collaborate in developing info material for internal presentations on Provident fund 1 processes and procedures;

Support in general accounting tasks;

Perform other duties as required.

Key Results:

Gain an in-depth understanding of financial management processes and data; Gain an understanding of investment;

Learn to work with ERP software and other platform;

Gain an understanding of how finance functions, its various systems and processes and how to integrate its associated responsibilities and duties.

Incumbent Profile:

A recent graduated or current student (Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration);

Detail-oriented, with a strong interest in data entry;

Ability to see the big picture and work with confidential information; Very good organizational skills;

Ability to work independently;

Shows initiative and proactivity;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German are essential; Respond to requests in an organized and timelymanner;

Computer literate in standard software applications, proficiency in Microsoft main applications, particularly Excel andWord;

Have an interest in the work of ICMPD and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the organization;

Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Compensation:

ICMPD offers a monthly fee of EUR 500,00, and will provide accident insurance for the duration of the internship. However, travel expenses will not be reimbursed and Health insurance is the responsibility of the incumbent.

The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with ICMPD.

PLEASE NOTE: An intern is not a staff member of ICMPD. An intern who is a non-citizen of the country in which the duty station is situated is responsible for obtaining any necessary visas and for complying with local laws regarding registration with the local authorities.
