OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
Under the overall authority of the Director of the Bureau of Human Resources Management, and the direct supervision of the Chief of Section for Staffing and the Head of Learning & Development Unit a.i., the Service Contract holder will contribute to the effective and efficient use of the Organization’s Learning Management System (LMS). The initial appointment will be for two (2) months, with the possibility of extension subject to budget availability and satisfactory performance.
Long Description
In particular, the incumbent shall:
- Act as key technical Administrator for the LMS, to ensure the optimal use of the tool for the Learning & Development Unit and for the end-users within the Organization.
- Carry out an audit on the LMS functions used by the Learning & Development Administrators and by end-users, and make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives uses and function.
- Ensure full use of all functionalities within the LMS by the Learning & Development Administrators and by end-users, including automated emails, reminders for mandatory training, carrousels, playlists, dashboards, etc.
- Provide recommendations on the effective use of the Connect application within Cornerstone OnDemand, to contribute to social learning amongst colleagues.
- Liaise with the provider of the LMS, Cornerstone OnDemand, to remain current on system specifications, updates and releases. Make recommendations to the Unit Head a.i. regarding releases to be implemented, and effective use of new functionalities.
- Assist end-user colleagues, including by providing end-user support on technical and content-based requests, and providing assistance to colleagues organising or managing training to run reports, and manage waitlists.
- Create and produce standard and ad hoc reports and data analysis on a regular basis of all aspects of the LMS use. Present data in an appropriate format for decision-making on the use and communication of content and instructor-led training.
Education
Completion of secondary education, technical or vocational school.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in managing the Cornerstone OnDemand learning management system.
- Experience in identifying and using all functionalities of the Cornerstone OnDemand learning management system.
- Experience in providing support to learning & development administrators and to end-users in the use of Cornerstone OnDemand.
- Experience of working in the United Nations System, or in an international government organization, would be an advantage.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a complex and multicultural environment.
- Excellent organization and planning skills, including the ability to organize own work priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and to organize and coordinate multiple tasks.
- Solid computer skills including office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- An understanding of the work of the UN would be an advantage.
- Fluency in written and oral English or French, and a strong ability to work in the other language.
