Reporting to the Director of Capacity Building Division (DoCBD), the main duties related to this post are:  Assist, advise and support the DoCBD in the strategic development of the Agency’s Acquisition Strategy enabling ability to acquire, lease, manage and deploy its own technical equipment and services.  Under the guidance of the DoCBD to steer the Capability Development Planning (CDP) in the area of acquisition of own technical equipment adhering to the CDP cycle.  Steer the provision of support, as identified in the CDP and Capability Roadmap, to the applicable stakeholders on acquisition and through-life management related activities.  Manage the staff of the unit in line with the highest ethical standards fostering professionalism, respect, personal growth and pooling of knowledge.  Under the leadership of the Director of Capacity Building Division ensure the Unit’s budgeting, its implementation, monitoring and reporting in line with EU standards and applicable laws.  Strengthen the inherent processes in all phases of acquisition, through-life management including integrated logistics support as well as developing new models for acquisition and leasing.  Ensure the provision of own technical equipment and services through the concise definition of requirements, timely execution of acquisition plans, effective management and successful delivery of acquisition projects, supplying the Agency’s own fleet of equipment.  Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including product and service providers maintaining a high level of integrity, accountability and service oriented approach.  Guide the Unit’s staff in building strong and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders in delivery of Unit’s objectives.  Actively support and advise the Director in change management ensuring comprehensive identity of Frontex as European Border and Coast Guard Agency, proactively propose and implement innovative solutions and work methods.
