- Secondary Education with preferably a Bachelor's or equivalent degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience or minimum 1 year of work experience combined with a Bachelor's or equivalent or higher degree in relevant field
- Good knowledge of Greek fundraising environment
- Working knowledge of fundraising database, preferably Salesforce
- Fluent Greek and excellent knowledge of English language (both oral and written)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite

- Ability to think creatively and to innovate UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a contract within the Private Sector Partnerships Services in UNHCR Office in Athens, Greece. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive team player, who is able to work independently as well, with a strong interest in fundraising, to become a steady and reliable asset to the UNHCR Greek operation.
The position will be part of UNHCR¿s Private Sector Partnerships Unit, which sits within the Department of External Relations (DER) responsible for mobilizing resources to enable UNHCR¿s refugee response programming around the world. Under the supervision of the PSP Officer (Europe) and in close coordination with the External Relations team in Greece and the Senior PSP Associate (Greece), the tasks of the Senior PSP Assistant (PPH) will be the following:
- Contribute to a roadmap for testing private partnerships fundraising with Corporates, Foundations and Private Philanthropists in Greece and Cyprus, in order to sustain UNHCR's national and international activities
- Support the development and management of a robust prospect pipeline and a calendar of opportunities for applications
- Undertake detailed prospect research and identify the most appropriate funding and fundraising opportunity
- Implement and monitor a development strategy for Corporates, Foundations and Private Philanthropists
- Conduct due diligence assessment for identified Corporates, Foundations and Private Philanthropists, in line with the global instructions, in order to manage organization risks
- Design and execute customized cultivation plans for existing and potential Corporates, Foundations and Private Philanthropists, in line with the overall global strategy
- Help establish an appropriate strategic and tactical response to prospects in the event of humanitarian emergencies
- Monitor and report the overall performance of the program according to the given key performance indicators and review plans accordingly
- Support PSP Greece team to create a solid and clear ladder of engagement in the donor development program
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Attend internal and external meetings and any other duty as required - The duration of the assignment is until 31st December 2020 (with possibility of extension).

UNHCR works in over 130 countries to protect and care for over 70 million people.
The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Services works in different regions: Europe, MENA, Americas, Africa, and Asia, and further decentralizes at local levels. The primary purpose of the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) in Greece is to generate income from both individual donors (IG), as well as corporates, foundations and private philanthropists in order to sustain UNHCR activities both worldwide as for Greece Operations specifically.
Through this position, PSP Greece aims to develop and support income from partnerships with corporations, foundations and private philanthropists (PPH) and searches for a PPH fundraiser in order to roll-out the overall strategy for the next years in Greece, with an additional focus on Cyprus market. The closing date for submission is 23 September 2020 (Midnight, Geneva).
