National Information Management Officer (Multiple positions and locations in Yemen)

1. BACKGROUND

Purpose of the Position
Within the context of the WHO Country Office and health emergencies the incumbent will support the development and implementation of the information management activities for the collation, tracking and analysis of relevant intelligence and information related to Country Office programmes and health emergencies.


2. JOB DESCRIPTION


To build and lead a dynamic network of data sharing across WHO and outside partners dedicated to the health cluster response.

Organizational context:


Under the direct supervision of Information Management Officer and under the overall guidance and leadership of the Technical Officer and Head of WHO Country Office, the incumbent is accountable for the data and information management activities for Country Office programmes and health emergencies in the country. S/he will interact with the local authorities, and counterparts in other UN partners, NGOs, and non-health actors to support strategic partnerships in respect of multi-dimensional information management processes.
Summary of Assigned Duties
The incumbent will perform the following duties:

1. Support the collection, analyses, production and dissemination of data/information. This includes supporting the response specific information (what, where, who, how many, how quickly, current Position Description - Professional 2 status), internal and external situation reports (SitReps), epidemic bulletins, rapid needs assessments, health risk assessments, and the Public Health Situation Analysis; and health inputs into humanitarian needs overviews (HNO), and strategic response plans (SRP).
2. Aggregate and maintain inter-country information from WHO and partners including contact lists, performance monitoring, health indicator data, health situation data, health response data
3. Participate in the basic geographic analysis for maps and other reports (such as dashboards, SitReps, etc).
4. Upon delegation provide information sharing between institutions, to strengthen access to information from other organizations and clusters, and to contribute to inter-sectoral dashboards and reports
5. Participate in field epidemiological surveys if/where needed, such as mortality and vaccination coverage surveys
6. Provide information management input into the planning and data/information management process; on data gathering and analysis, quality assurance, performance monitoring, information dissemination and management.
7. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Specialization in information management systems. Specific training in humanitarian response or emergency information management.

Experience
Essential At least two years of related experience in information management, monitoring, and data analysis.

Desirable
Relevant work experience in WHO, other UN agencies; experience working in relevant nongovernmental or humanitarian organizations. Experience in developing countries.

4. USE OF LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic.
Other Skills (e.g. IT)
• Advanced use of MS Office, particularly spreadsheets, data visualization and analysis tools, and databases.
• Design and management of information systems.

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 41,349 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
