The Programme Section, UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking applications to a roster for individual consultants to document and capture key discussion, action points, recommendations, etc. in English and Thai language in different workshops/meetings organized by the office.

How can you make a difference?

The Programme Section, UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking applications to a roster for individual consultants to document and capture key discussion, action points, recommendations, etc. in English and Thai language in different workshops/meetings organized by the office. 

 

Work Assignment:

  • Ensure that s/he gets familiar with the topics of the concerned event to define the plan, tasks and steps applied in the workshop/s and meeting/s.
  • Document the questions/discussion/remarks/replies from interactions among speakers /facilitators and participants that link to each session.
  • Consolidate inputs from sections to contribute to analyses for deliberation during the meeting.
  • Document the key discussions, findings, conclusions, recommendations/suggestions and decisions during the workshop/s and meeting/s.
  • Document the action plans and follow up actions.
  • Develop and write a draft report of the workshop/s and meeting/s for the organizers’ comments/reviews.
  • Consolidate comments and revise the workshop/s and meeting/s report for final submission to the organizers.

 

Work Schedule:

This is a call for consultants to be placed on the Rapporteur Consultants Roster.  The exact detailed work schedule with clear deliverable and time frames will be upon agreement with hiring manager.

  • Serve as rapporteur during the workshop/s and meeting/s as required by sections; and
  • Submit final report, incorporating any feedback shared by the hiring section.

 

End Product:

Final report of workshop/s and meeting/s in format required reflecting comments or inputs shared by the hiring section.

 

Estimated Duration of Contract:  This is a call for consultants to be placed on the Rapporteur Consultants Roster.  The consultant will remain on the roster for 24 months and can be contracted for specific work assignment as required.

 

The duration of contract and necessary official travel in/outside Bangkok will be upon agreement with hiring manager.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A degree in communications, journalism, social sciences or a related technical field and at least 3 years of professional experience;
  • Excellent oral and written in both Thai and English;
  • Experienced writer, preferably on issues in the development context;
  • Familiar with children’s issues or social issues will be an added value;
  • Proven ability to produce conference reports to a high-quality professional standard;
  • Familiarity with UN and UNICEF technical language and style is preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and flexible attitude is desirable;
  • Able to maintain attention for extended periods of time and to maintain high quality outputs;
  • Consultant based in Bangkok is also preferable.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
