Programme Assistant – Gender Statistics

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Under the overall guidance of the Programme Specialist– Gender statistics, the programme Assistant shall be responsible for; management of specified interventions of the programme;

  1. Support the roll out of the gender statistics students grants activity to be carried out in partnership with academic institutions and KNBS. Specifically, support in recruitment of consultants and procurement of venues for the consultation meetings.
  2. Support the recruitment, travel and logistics of National and international consultants, Government counterparts and UN Women staff in the roll out of;
  • The Time use survey
  • The capacity building activities
  • The development of key gender statistics publications
  • Grantees
  • Support in the reporting and liquidation of grantees funds

  1. Support execution of activities in the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics Letter of Agreement workplan FY 2018/2020
  2. Support travel and logistics of Government counterparts and UN Women staff to all south to south cooperation meetings at the National and international level
  3. Support as communications focal point fo the programme in liaison with UN Women communications officer
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or relevant field

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in project management for development projects.
  • Have experience in using financial management systems including ATLAS.
  • Have experience in design, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of development projects
  • Excellent computing and IT skills, with full competency of office software packages.
Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
