The Multimedia Content Specialist will play a key role in a newly funded initiative to reduce COVID-19- health related disparities in at-risk refugee, immigrant and migrant (RIM) communities in the United States. The Content Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and developing a variety of culturally- and linguistically-appropriate materials that can be distributed across a variety of platforms (audio, web-based, video, etc.) that are designed to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 materials. The Content Specialist will also help produce best practice training and technical assistance materials for the contact tracing and public health workforce to increase capacity to serve RIM communities. Reporting to IRC’s Technical Advisor for Health Promotion and working in coordination with other project staff, the Content Specialist is responsible for rapidly developing, testing and iterating materials that that can be disseminated through familiar and trusted channels and that garner high engagement. The position will also oversee routine analytics to assess impact of the material(s) and make recommendations to improve accessibility and uptake.

Major Responsibilities:

•Help develop and execute a strategy that ensures relevant, timely and accurate COVID-19 information reaches targeted RIM communities.

•Produce a broad range of compelling multimedia content in several languages designed to engage RIM communities, including short-form videos, text-based explainers, data-based features and info-graphics, and more

•Cover the full arc of content development, working with stakeholders, including partners, RIM community members, and technical experts to refine objectives, key messages and tactics.

•Develop creative promotion and distribution strategies; ensure that production and distribution of materials prioritizes the users’ experience and garners high engagement.

•Support pushes and campaigns of developed content to RIM communities in identified trusted and familiar mediums and channels (site, email, Facebook/Twitter, YouTube, SMS, WhatsApp, search, third-party and partner channels); ensure content is fully optimized for distribution in search and social channels as appropriate; edit multimedia assets to platform specifications as needed.

•Use data and audience insights to set smart and measure-able goals for content pieces, and to assess their success; participate in testing and optimization of content to increase learning about what works and what doesn’t, and to improve results.

•Liaise with multilingual community content validators on content creation and translation to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness.

•Coordinate with local videographers and RAI offices on local film shoots.

•Design capacity building/training materials for healthcare providers.

•Collaborate with other project staff to ensure maximum visibility and distribution of materials.

•Participate in regular project meetings and other events as needed.

•Perform other duties as assigned.
