Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of taskWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Information Management (IM) Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV IM Associate will:
- Support the general Education (EDU) Sector tasks in information management, in addition to some administrative tasks in EDU;
- Process administrative tasks that include (but are not limited to):
- Support Sector coordination team in compiling, consolidating and documenting sector results and progress;
- Support the preparation of general reports, assessments, dashboards, situation analyses reports, and other sector related documents;
- Updating/maintaining EDU Sectors Contact lists;
- Supporting Sector in preparation, implementation and following on meetings, including: preparing presentations and briefs, preparing/compiling EDU National level minutes of meetings (MoMs); maintaining attendance sheets for EDU National level meetings (Sectors Partners meetings, Core Groups, etc.);
- Supporting in follow up with Sector Partners on deadlines related to EDU Sector, including on surveys, assessments or any data collection process; service mapping, 3/4/5W’s, photos, locations online mapping, etc;
- Sending out mass communication (announcements, vacancies, etc.)
- Aaccompany the team in or undertaking field visits (field offices, Partners programs, etc.);
- Perform particular IM tasks that include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting in drafting online forms;
- Supporting the Sector IM Officer in technical tasks in data analyses;
- Supporting the Sector IM Officer in specific tasks related to Inter-Agency reporting platforms (Activity Info);
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. Social Sciences or area related to Information Management;
- At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in humanitarian, emergency response, or development domains, or other relevant programmes; experience with UN Agencies or I/NGO’s is an asset
; - Knowledge in online forms and/or online mapping is an asset;
- Knowledge in database development is an asset;
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Sound security awareness;
- Have affinity with or interest in humanitarian affairs and emergencies, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
