Established in December 1950, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect and assist refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. UNHCR works in over 130 countries to protect and care for over 70 million people.
The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Services works in different regions: Europe, MENA, Americas, Africa, and Asia, and further decentralizes at local levels. The primary purpose of the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) in Greece is to generate income from both individual donors (IG), as well as corporates, foundations and private philanthropists in order to sustain UNHCR activities both worldwide as for Greece Operations specifically.
In this framework, regular donor¿s acquisition program through Face-to-Face fundraising activities has become an increasing source of donor¿s acquisition within PSP Unit. After some months of tests in 2018, the activity generated encouraging outcome and a gradual roll-out phase and growth plan have been finalised for 2019. Acquisition program as well as donor retention activities therefore have increased, and the additional and dedicated capacity was needed to reinforce the PSP team in Greece. The PSP Assistant role is crucial to secure appropriate performances to the fundraising programs as well as the development of activities on regular data transactions with banks, data management, donor care, administrative support, etc.

Functional Statement:

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a contract within the Private Sector Partnerships Services in UNHCR Office in Athens, Greece. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and results driven team player with a strong interest in fundraising, to replace the existing incumbent during her Maternity Leave.

The maternity leave replacement position will be part of UNHCR¿s Private Sector Partnerships Unit, which sits within the Department of External Relations (DER) responsible for mobilizing resources to enable UNHCR¿s refugee response programming around the world. Under the overall supervision of the PSP Officer (Southern Europe) and in coordination with the PSP team in Greece, the tasks of the PSP Assistant will be the following:

- IT financial administration services for regular donations through bank direct debit, automatic credit cards payments. This activity will be carried out by using web-based procedures (handbook) and tools. Download from donor database relevant files for bank debiting process and securing data upload from bank system into donor database. Monthly reconciliation of data between transmitted and received data.
- Focal point for recovering of terminated or suspended regular donations though direct debit and credit card payments.
- Updating fundraising database with donors¿ data, gifts data, fundraising campaigns data and export files, data, information for fundraising activities.
- Basic Analysis and Reporting: develop dashboard and KPI reporting, identify fundraising opportunities in order to maximize donor lifetime value, increase revenue and setting annual goals.
- Donor base analysis to support the definition of strategy and tactic of donor relationship.
- Targeting/Segmentation: segmentation and targeting based on donor insights, behaviour, interaction and gifts history.
- Focal point for the preparation and collecting of documentation needed before the launch of a procurement processes as well as for the follow-up activities after the finalization of procurement.
- Focal point in supporting the invoicing process: preparation of document for the finalization of payments and budget monitoring (invoice check, cost control against budget).
- Giving answers, taking adequate actions, and eventually solving problems to donors who daily contact UNHCR by e-mail, mail, telephone, etc.
- Dealing with donors' requests and managing complains in a professional manner.
- Executing monthly operations of recapturing (by e-mail and mail), thank you to donors (by e-mail, mail and phone).
- Completing fulfilment and data entry operations needed by telemarketing outbound and inbound campaigns.
- Advising on donor care actions and improvements to be implemented.
- Any other duty as required.  

Essential Minimum Qualifications & Professional Experience Required:
- Completion of secondary education (high school diploma)
- University degree will be considered an asset
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience in data processing with the Greek bank systems and/or donor database management for marketing or fundraising purposes
- Deep knowledge and experience in database management and software, especially for marketing/fundraising purposes
- Experience of facilitating and achieving consensus in complex matrix structures
- Greek mother tongue and excellent knowledge of English language (both oral and written)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

- High level of interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and diplomatic skills for engagement with a wide variety of contacts
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Good communication, problem solving and coordination skills
- Knowledge of basic administrative functions is an asset
- Ability to prioritize work and work under pressure
- Self-motivation and attention to details
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and to innovate - The duration of the temporary assignment is from 01 December 2020 to 31 May 2021 (Maternity Leave Replacement).
