Overview of position
Our client in Afghanistan implements multi donor projects & programs that deploy information management initiatives to support & inform operational processes towards the provision of humanitarian & community development assistance by our client & their partners & counterparts, as well as capacity building of Afghan govt. & ministries. Our client implements the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), a global information management system for our client to track & monitor population displacement & mobility. The primary objective of DTM activities in Afghanistan is to collect structured data to obtain in depth information on the sizes, locations, demographics & needs of mobile & displaced populations, mobility dynamics, patterns & the drivers of mobility.
Role objectives
  • Identify the right sources of information / target respondent to collect relevant information required from flow monitoring point & / or flow monitoring survey.
  • Conduct interviews & data collection in the airport according to the operation planning led by the TL.
  • Coordinate the flow monitoring survey with the AVRR & ABP staff in the airport on daily basis.
  • Ensure of the quality of the information collected by systematically verify & correct the questionnaire / form at the end of the interview / registration.
  • Identify & correct inconsistencies, inaccuracies & omissions in data prior to submission to the DTM TL.
  • Remit all completed surveys to the DTM TL in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on any data quality enquiries or clarifications required by the DTM Data Entry Clerk, DTM TL or DTM management team in Kabul (DTM Database Assistant / DTM Operations Officer / DTM Coordinator) & make any necessary corrections to the forms / questionnaires.
  • Encode the collected data into the KOBO system using PC or mobile devices (tablet / smart phone), when applicable & necessary.
  • Inform the DTM TL f any sudden population movements or displacements & causal incidents in his / her geographical areas of responsibility.
  • Liaise & build a good relationship with different data’s sources in the airport, including but not limited to various humanitarian partners, INGOs & govt. partners.
  • Inform the DTM TL  on the sudden returnee’s flow.
  • Report on a daily basis on the activities conducted and the realities / issues encountered to the TL & make relevant  recommendation.
  • Respect & follow our clients data protection principles.
  • Perform other duties as they might be assigned.
Project reporting
This role works under the direct supervision of the DTM TL,  the overall supervision of the DTM Operations Officer & in coordination with the DTM Coordinator, the DTM Enumerator will be responsible for the abovementioned, according to the procedures & training provided by the DTM management team.
