Employment Resource Specialist

The recruited AmeriCorps member will assume the position of "'VISTA Employment Resource Specialist" with International Rescue Committee in Leon County, Florida. The Living Allowance is $513.94 bi-weekly. The goal of this VISTA position is to increase the economic status of low-income refugees by assisting and enhancing IRC’s employment outreach and referral program. This program will help to increase/augment each client's employment and post-secondary opportunities by building diverse partnerships, researching and compiling relevant community resources, and mobilizing a coalition of organizations. The VISTA will help coordinate a job training program designed to secure employment resources and opportunities for low income refugees and immigrants. The VISTA will also help develop and maintain a sustainable career/post-secondary education program and help develop a plan for securing resources to assist low income refugees with access to higher education.
