Senior Integration Officer

IRC-UK

Our European headquarters, IRC-UK, were established in London in 1997 to support the organisation’s global activities and particularly to diversify its donor base and be able to better advocate with European policy-makers on behalf of the people we serve. Since its establishment IRC-UK has grown rapidly and is now acknowledged for its high quality project management, technical expertise in governance and rights and economic recovery, and innovative thinking on early recovery and gender based violence. IRC-UK comprises approximately 120 staff.

The IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm.

The Purpose of the Role

The Senior Integration Officer will be the technical lead for implementing integration activities in the UK and support the launch of the Resettlement Integration in Southeast England (RISE) project. The Senior Integration Officer will develop project resources and curricula based on integration best practice and ensure the delivery of high quality integration services for the refugees enrolled in the programme.

Key Working Relationships

 Reports to RISE Project Manager. Works closely with IRC Resettlement Asylum and Integration (RAI) Technical Unit team, Integration Officers and Senior Integration Specialist.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the RISE project manager with the technical aspects of the project implementation, ensuring the project is based on the best available evidence, responsive to client needs and the local context;
• Oversee the process of adapting resources and programmatic tools including curricula on cultural orientation, civic engagement, leadership skills and coordinate with staff to ensure regular updates to curricula are made;
• Develop and deliver interpreter and volunteer trainings, leading engaging group workshops and support Integration Officers with the delivery of group training activities;
• Lead the development of enrollment procedures and ensure staff adherence to client safeguarding policies in service delivery;
• Grow relationships with external stakeholders, including partners and referral agencies;
• Help analyze data to inform periodic review and course correction to ensure that project is based on evidence and is evidence-generating;
• Share project learnings with staff and partners, ensure project alignment with the overall IRC strategy.

Person Specification 

Essential

• Minimum four years European resettlement experience at the managerial level;
• Demonstrated knowledge of the refugee resettlement programme and UK integration programming;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and partners in English;
• Proven training and facilitation skills: the ability to conduct workshops and learning activities in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual setting;
• Solid experience with curriculum development and delivering content for online learning;
• Experience in project management to include project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
• Outreach and networking skills: the ability to build relationships with clients and external partners;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using online meeting and training platforms such as zoom, skype, teams or WebEx.
