The principal role of the Liaison Officer is supporting the Executive Director in carrying out his tasks and to enable eu-LISA to continue to evolve towards being a centre of excellence for the management and development of large scale IT systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice. The main duties include: • liaising, developing and maintaining working relations and cooperation with the Member States and associated countries, European Commission, the Council and the Parliament as well as other EU bodies and relevant EU agencies. • facilitating the dialogue and exchange of Information with the EU Institutions, EU agencies and other EU bodies, Member States and associated countries on subject matters relevant to the eu-LISA mandate and responsibilities; • facilitating eu-LISA’s dialogue with external Stakeholders - including but not limited to: NGOs, International organizations, industry partners, academics, and other relevant stakeholders, in accordance with the mandate of eu-LISA; • monitoring the relevant developments in the Justice and Home Affairs area, identifying and advising eu-LISA management as appropriate on political and legislation initiatives of the European Union, which are relevant to the mandate and work of the eu-LISA; • preparing policy analyses and providing regular updates on EU political/legislative developments, ensuring awareness raising on relevant subject matters, trends and priorities relevant for the Agency; • advising on, organizing and facilitating events for the stakeholders of eu-LISA to promote its capacities and develop partnerships; • organizing and attending the visits of eu-LISA staff to Belgium and brief them on the Issues related to the political/Institutional developments relevant to eu-LISA; • contributing to the annual planning and other planning exercises as required; • acting as officer-in-charge for the office when needed; • performing other related duties as required.
