COVID-19 poses a range of challenges and barriers to youth in accessing their education. The IRC in Boise is working to ensure refugee students have access to the resources and equipment necessary to succeed in school. The Youth Mentoring Coach Intern will assist students in completing their schoolwork.

 

Project Description:

·Assist the Youth Success Specialist with outreach and engagement to ensure the students’ success during COVID-19

·Focus 30 students, mainly seniors and juniors, to make sure they know how to access online materials, will be making a small tutoring group with any school needs

·Reach out to families –help recruit students, jump in with tutoring

·Goal to make sure students get help they need to be successful in their respective classes
