The COVAX Unit in the Vaccine Centre, Supply Division is being created to lead activities related to UNICEF role as Procurement coordinator, as well as Procurement agency, on behalf of the COVAX Facility. The post is housed in this unit and will report to the unit Contracts Manager.

 

How Can You Make a Difference?

Under the supervision of the Contracts Manager, the Procurement Associate performs activities related to COVID-19 response, in compliance with the UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations, Supply Division Manual and other applicable procurement procedures. 

The Procurement Associate will be responsible for providing support to external and internal communications; taking minutes of meetings, follow ups with countries and suppliers, assistance for a segment of products in Vaccine Centre providing effective services to customers and external partners.

 

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

 Under the supervision of a Reports Specialist, the incumbent performs all procurement activities in compliance with the UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations, Supply Division Manual and other applicable procurement procedures including:

1.   Supports contracts management to ensure supplier compliance to LTA's and purchase order terms and conditions.

2.   Supports activities related to regularly receive vaccine availability information from COVID-19 vaccine suppliers in a timely manner and follows up as necessary.

3.   Works closely with vaccine suppliers and partners on receipt of supporting documentation required for the UNICEF to report on the drawdown of firm commitments with suppliers.

4.   Supports coordinated planning with Self Procuring Participants of COVAX facility to use established Summary Term Sheets with manufacturers to support their procurement processes.

5.  Any other duties or assignments as requested by the supervisor

 

To qualify as a Champion for every Child you will have…

Required:

  • Completion of secondary education
  • A minimum six years relevant working experience, preferably in a procurement function, from an administrative function in a commercial working environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, Word, Excel and Power point
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid work permit and residency in Denmark at the time of submitting the application. Note that the selected candidate is responsible for obtaining any required extension of their residence permit as such an extension cannot be dependent on an employment with UNICEF

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Technical or University level courses in business related subjects
  • Proficiency in another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish)
