Education in Emergency Specialist-Cluster Coordinator

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task
  1. Humanitarian coordination for the Education Cluster in Northeast DRC
  1. Ensure daily coordination on education activities, address gaps, and avoid activity duplication
  2. Represent the Education Cluster in regional meetings (such as regional inter-cluster meetings)
  3. Regularly share information and data with the National Education Cluster
  4. Organize and lead the regional Education Cluster
  5. Ensure strategic and meaningful links with the Child Protection Working Group, Shelter, and WASH Clusters and other relevant coordination groups (eg; the Child Protection Area of Responsibility).
  1. Strategic orientation of the Regional Education Cluster in Northeast DRC
  1. Develop strategies and workplans in collaboration with the Cluster’s and Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) members
  2. Actively participate in Humanitarian Program Cycle (HPC) (such as Humanitarian Need Overview, Humanitarian Response Plan, updates on humanitarian needs, workplan, reporting)
  3. Participate in defining prioritization for humanitarian funds (Humanitarian funds, CERF, …)
  1. Capacity building for the Education Cluster members and strengthened partnerships with education stakeholders
  1. Reinforce Education Cluster Co-leads, members, and local authorities’ capacities to contribute to the International Network for Education in Emergency
  2. Strengthen /build capacity regarding Education in Emergency (EiE) concerns
  3. Ensure continuous capacity building for the Cluster’s members
  1. Fundraising
  1. Support the National Cluster and UNICEF to fundraise for the position after the initial period of 12 months if required
  2. Advocate for donors and representatives to support Education in Emergency interventions and capacity building
  • Reporting et supervision:

The EiE Specialist - Cluster Coordinator is under the supervision of the UNICEF’s Goma Head of Field Office and will receive the technical support of the National Education Cluster Unit.

Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Master’s in relevant background in Education or Social Science;

Required experience: 36 Months Experience remark:

  • minimum of 3 years experience in programs/projects related to education in emergencies or any other relevant backrgound connected to the description of assignement
