We are looking for a developer to join our team building Impactpool to be the best it can be. We are a small but growing team. Making this into a fantastic opportunity for you to be part of this journey while also growing in your role as a developer.

Who we are

Impactpool is a SaaS career platform for organizations that works towards making a positive impact and contribute to sustainable development. We also provide services to the talents who work in this sector to make the most out of their careers. Our user base is large and truly global with users from every country on the globe. The organizations we work with range from the largest UN organizations to the smaller NGOs, and everything in between.

We have offices in Stockholm and Umeå. For this position we prefer Umeå, Stockholm is an option as is remote work for the right candidate. We are a diverse team both in gender and nationalities. This is something we value and aims to continue being. English is the language we use, so fluency in English is key.

About the role?

As a part of the developer team, you will be working on our existing platform with, big or small projects, to either improve existing features or be part of the development of new ones. Part of your work will also be to assist the customer success team on support issues.

Our focus is on building a great product for our users and that supports our business. We see that this is best accomplished using classical web application techniques of serving HTML and CSS over the wire, with occasional Javascript enhancements, from a monolith application. Instead of using microservices and Javascript heavy frontends. This allows us to be agile, work quickly, and deliver functionality.

About you

We're looking for a candidate with a proven track record of working with full-stack web development. A candidate who is a generalist rather than a specialist, with an analytical mindset. Someone that can take responsibility and ownership and manage herself by understanding what actions need to be taken to reach the goal. Someone who knows when to overachieve and when good enough is good enough. Having an entrepreneurial spirit you can say.

You are fluent in technologies such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Ruby and Ruby on Rails and SQL. Having experience in Linux Administration is a great plus.

Having a Computer Science degree is not something that we require, what's important is that you have the skills needed to do the job rather than how you got them.

Being a somewhat distributed team it's important that you are able to communicate well in writing as well as in speaking. And to express yourself clearly and succinctly in English. If you also know Swedish it's a plus, or any other languages too.
