Overview of position
In June 2020, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Kia motors Libya branch (Kia) signed a cooperation agreement to promote the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Libya by implementing joint sustainability program initiatives. UNDP will support Kia in three programmes: 1) Youth Talent Programme (YTP) in which a learning programme to train Libyan youth, including internally displaced people (IDPs) in several areas; 2) Behavioral Insights (BI) initiatives to reduce traffic-related accidents through behavioral change interventions; 3) improve Libyan lives through joint corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. UNDP is working closely with Kia through UNDP Libya’s innovation unit, the UNDP Accelerator Lab Libya, to enact non-conventional innovative approaches. At the same time, Kia will provide its resources such as its learning materials, expertise, learning classrooms from its partner Impact Learning Center, and other teaching facilities.

Role objectives

The main objectives of the first programme, the YTP, are to create courses and train youth across the country, including the IDPs, using conventional and/or online classrooms. Also, UNDP and Kia motors will cooperate for the discovery of the talents, in which UNDP will take into consideration the minimum required qualifications and standards pre-set by Kia motors.
The courses in particular are a set off auto mechanical training courses, focusing on electrical, engine and chassis systems of some Kia motors brands, account and sales management, information technologies, English and soft skills.

The instructional designer/course developer expert has to work in coordination with different experts, such as from Kia motors, Impact Learning Center and from other institutions to gather and design learning materials and create several courses in English and Arabic.
