The Philippine Country Office is renewing and expanding its Long Term Agreement for Editorial and Creative Services and is in need of qualified individuals to fill in the post. In line with UNICEF’s communication and public advocacy strategy, the consultant will provide high-quality editorial and creative services and outputs to support the documentation, communication and advocacy needs of the UNICEF Philippines country office.

Purpose of the engagement

In line with UNICEF’s communication and public advocacy strategy, the consultant will provide high-quality editorial and creative services and outputs to support the documentation, communication and advocacy needs of the UNICEF Philippines country office.

Methodology & Approach

Qualified applicants will be offered an 11.5-month service contract with a possibility of renewal up to 24 months subject to performance review and validation with fixed professional rates per output for the duration of the service contract. Travel and daily subsistence allowance is dependent on the assignment location, consultant's place of recruitment, and duration.

The contract serves as an on-call/as-needed arrangement between UNICEF and the individual for any required services and outputs during the contract period.

Duration of individual assignments is dependent on the date and location of the activity to be covered, and the deadline for the submission of the required outputs. This will be discussed and agreed upon between UNICEF through the Communication and requiring Units and the the individual contractor prior to the start of every assignment.

Task and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, develop and produce moving images and videos related to UNICEF’s work for campaign, event, advocacy, C4D, learning, broadcast, digital media and other projects, according to the UNICEF’s branding guidelines
  • Brainstorm and conceptualize required outputs based on UNICEF’s creative brief and technical specifications;
  • Prepares storyboard and mock-ups
  • Source and produce audio requirements such as music, voice over tracks and sound effects.
  • Coordinate with voiceover talents to produce required ttacks. Purchase rights to music on behalf of UNICEF with cost ‘on actual’. Any rights-managed files and voiceover tracks to be used in the output must be cleared with UNICEF prior to purchase.

Deliverables:

  • Draft creative treatment, script, storyboard, and production timeline in line with UNICEF’s creative brief and technical specifications
  • Static renders of all visual elements prior to rendering of animated output
  • Sound mix of voice over recording and SFX
  • Two offline edits and one online edit for approvals
  • Final animated output following the video formats and specifications identified in the creative brief

Organization & Management

The Consultant will be managed by the UNICEF Communication Officer in coordination with the specific unit requiring the Consultant services and will be responsible to:

  • Orient the consultant and outline the parameters of the required services.
  • Provide copies of the UNICEF brand book, visual guidelines and editorial style guide.
  • Provide and agree with the consultant on the work schedule, timelines and deadlines.
  • Provide relevant feedback and evaluation of the service provided and outputs submitted.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate course in visual communication, graphic/ multimedia design
  • 2-3 years work experience in a film/multimedia production house is an advantage
  • Proven ability to creatively ideate and transform complex information and messages into fresh, audience-oriented, and visually arresting moving images/motion graphics that are intuitive and easy to read.
  • Proven ability in sound design and creative project management
  • Knowledge of standard industry animation production processes,
  • Proficiency in using animation and sound editing software and tools

Intellectual Property Rights

The consultant expressly assigns to UNICEF any copyright arising from the outputs produced while executing the service contract. The consultant may not use, reproduce, disseminate, or authorize others to use, reproduce or disseminate any output produced under the service contract without prior consent from UNICEF.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
